Do you have a plan for this weekend? We suggest you take a stroll inside of the paintings at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum. On the occasion of the International Museum Day and Night of the Museums, from 18 to 28 May, you can travel without leaving the museum.
Whoever visits the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum will be able enjoy a virtual reality experience and directly enter a three-dimensional space. Thanks to immersion glasses, you can walk through the meadows of Auvers painted by Van Gogh, the streets of New York that inspired Mondrian or immerse yourself amongst the flowers and insects of a Dutch still life painting.
An initiative with the participation of IED Madrid through its IED Innovation Lab, and HP that enjoys the sponsorship of Endesa.
IED’s part in the project is being led by the XR Lab in partnership with the company Entropy under the philosophy of opening up a new world of opportunities thanks to VR, AR and MR. It also enjoys the collaboration of the Fab Lab, Media Lab and the former students of IED Design Madrid José Antonio Camacho Ramos (also a teacher at IED Madrid) and José Andrés Fernández Rábano for the production and creation of graphic material for the project.
If you want to enjoy this experience, you only need to put on your virtual reality glasses, open your eyes wide and let yourself be carried away by your curiosity.
