Do you have in mind how to create a better city using technology? Red Bull will listen to you and turn your idea into reality through the Red Bull Basement Residency programme that will take place in the IED Innovation Lab at IED Madrid.
A call to all those creatives, makers, coders, designers, architects, engineers, students, professionals and, in general, all innovative spirits interested in the positive social impact that technology might have on our society.
The IED Innovation Lab, a design playground for tranformation projects, is the venue chosen for performing this residency programme, besides being the main collaborator for the development of the project, the contents and the programming.
What does it consist of?
Red Bull Basement Residency is a training programme through which the brand aims to encourage technology-based ideas that put forward solutions to improve life in urban areas. The five selected projects will enter a two-month acceleration stage – July and August 2018 – where they will receive training and guidance from the leading experts and professionals on the technology scene in a programme that is designed ad hoc for each project.
In order to assess and select the submitted applications, a project selection committee has been set up comprising the seven institutions that promote and support the project: Red Bull Basement, IED Innovation Lab, IAM, IAAC (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia), Barcelona City Council, Madrid City Council and Fundación COTEC.
Do you want to take part?
The competition is open to all those creative people, either individually or forming teams of up to three people, that perform their work in the field of urban social innovation, civic design and/or technology with a participative/relational/collaborative and critical approach.
The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, 1 June 2018. You can consult the rules of the competition by clicking here.
